Welcome to Dance at Hansing's!

History

Hansing's School of Dance opened 35 years ago with John Hansing and his daughter Lisa. We have kept the tradition alive in our community creating memories in dance and performance because of our love for movement. Lisa and her daughter Melissa now teach together making it a third-generation family business. We are passionate about making our studio a welcoming and encouraging place for all our students.

What to Expect

Kids' Classes

Students can be dropped off for dance class or you may stay to watch them. Each dance class will be a variety of technique, movement games, community building, mindfulness practice, and routine work. Students should come in a comfortable dance outfit of choice, with their dance shoes, and a water bottle.

Adult Classes

Students are free to wear any workout clothing they feel comfortable in and their appropriate dance shoes. Please avoid any dirty or dark bottomed shoes to protect our floor. Bring a water bottle and a towel because you will be working hard.

Policies

Absences and Attendance

As a small business we are excited to offer you a variety of classes and opportunities. Class sizes do fill up and we try to limit our class size to give each dancer the best instruction. We do not offer make-up classes for absent students. We understand that classes will be missed but we ask you do your best to make as many classes as you can so your dancer is ready for performances. If your child is sick please do not come to dance class. Our basic rule of thumb is that if they would not be able to go to school they should not be at the studio.

Payments and Preparedness

By signing up for a session you are committed to that class and responsible to pay by the first day of class via cash, check, or Venmo. Students must come to class prepared to dance in the correct shoes. Links for shoes are below. We recommend ordering on Amazon as sizes can be difficult for dance shoes and easy returns are helpful.

Studio Etiquette

We strive for a structured yet fun environment in our classes and ask that parents do their best to help in this. The waiting room should be a quiet place to watch students dance and other siblings playing loudly or loud conversations are discouraged greatly. It is important that our young dancers are able to focus on instruction and get the most out of their time at the studio.
